How Sage came about.

Sage opened its doors in 2017 in the heart of Enschede, on Langestraat beside the Oude Markt. What began as an ambition to bring Asian refinement to the east of the Netherlands grew into a fixture for anyone looking for a little more than the standard.

We do it differently. No plastic bonsai, no harsh strip lighting. With us you step into a world of velvet benches, low light and gold on black. A world where flavour and atmosphere are inseparable.

In 2026 we renewed the kitchen with our All You Can Eat fine dining concept: a format in which you can taste refined dishes without watching the clock. For one fixed price, at your own pace.

Sage is one thing by day and another by night. Two worlds, one team, one vision.

12:00 – 17:00 · Lunch

Asian à la carte

During the day Sage runs on individual dishes. Ramen you can still taste days later. Poke bowls with fish delivered daily. Sushi tacos you will not find anywhere else. No fixed times, no rounds, just choose what you fancy.

All You Can Eat fine dining

From 17:00 Sage changes character. Unlimited refined dishes for one fixed price: one dish per person per round, unlimited side dishes, no time limit. The concept invites you to taste, share and enjoy calmly. As it should be.

Our values.

Fresh, always

Our fish arrives daily. Our vegetables are chosen locally and in season. What is on your plate in the evening had not been cooked that morning.

With care

No mass production, no shortcuts. Every ramen broth simmers for hours. Every taco is assembled to order. We believe you taste that.

An Asian soul

We are guided by Japanese, Korean, Thai and Chinese traditions, but we do not copy them. We translate them, into something that tastes the way it does only at Sage.

No hurry

At Sage you do not sit down and move on. Our AYCE rounds have no clock. Lunch may take an hour or three. We work at your pace, not the other way around.
